In 2026, a short video produced by a video agency in France most often costs between €2,500 and €5,000 per project, and an experienced freelance director is paid around €470 a day, according to the benchmarks of La Fabrique du Net and Malt. Personal-branding agencies sell a monthly package for a number of videos set in the contract, and no neutral benchmark publishes its price.
This guide takes each route with its public figures, its source and the day it was read, then brings everything down to the same unit: what a short costs you. The benchmarks are French, the market Dailies Studio started in; prices elsewhere in Europe differ, but the way to compare them does not.
How much does a short video from a video agency cost?
La Fabrique du Net, a directory of agencies and production studios in France, publishes a benchmark built from the budgets those agencies and their clients report there: 513 real budgets, collected on 8 October 2026, according to its page on video pricing. It reads:
- €10,000, the median video project, all types together; the core of the market runs from €5,000 to €30,000;
- €2,500 to €5,000 for a short format: a teaser, an interview or an edit of existing footage;
- €4,500, the median budget of a project ordered by a very small business.
These are prices per project, not per month. A project is one video or a short series. To post every week on your networks, you have to chain projects, or negotiate a subscription, which the same page describes as growing for regular content production.
How much does a freelance editor or videographer cost?
Two freelance marketplaces publish their averages:
- €470 a day, the average day rate of experienced directors active on Malt over the last three months, according to its benchmark of image and sound rates, read on 15 October 2026;
- €342, the average budget of the projects posted for video editors in October 2026 on Codeur.com, according to its page on video editor rates, read the same day.
The two figures do not measure the same thing: the first is the price of a day of shooting or directing, the second what an editing job costs on average, often a single video. Either way, there has to be footage first: if you do not film yourself, an editor has nothing to work with. We compare this route in detail in Dailies Studio or a freelance video editor.
And a personal-branding agency, how much a month?
It is the question people ask most, and the only one with no reliable public figure. No neutral benchmark publishes what a video personal-branding agency charges a month today, and the agencies that show a price each do it their own way. Rather than a range with no source, here is how to read their quotes.
A personal-branding agency takes on your editorial line, your scripts, your shoots and your editing, sometimes your posting. It is paid by the month, for a number of videos set in the contract. To compare it with another route:
- divide the monthly price by the number of shorts it includes: that is your cost per short;
- count your own time: editorial meetings, script reviews, shooting sessions, approvals;
- look at what happens the month you cancel a shoot: does the calendar empty?
We set out what an agency does, and what it does better than we do, in Dailies Studio or a personal-branding agency.
How much does Dailies Studio cost?
Dailies Studio is a video studio you subscribe to, sold as a single plan, whose pricing is online. Neither your calls nor your shorts are counted.
That price covers recording your calls in Chrome, picking the passages, the vertical edit, captions in a template or in your brand style, a post drafted for each network, scheduling and publishing to YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, LinkedIn and TikTok. The team sets Dailies Studio up with you and builds your template from your brand’s files.
What it does not cover: a brand strategy, posts written without a video, replies to your comments, or editing videos you already have.
What a short costs, route by route
| Route | What you pay | What a short costs you |
|---|---|---|
| Video agency or studio | €2,500 to €5,000 per short format (La Fabrique du Net) | The project’s price, divided by the videos it delivers |
| Freelance videographer or editor | €470 a day (Malt), €342 per editing job (Codeur.com) | A shooting day, plus the edit of each video |
| Personal-branding agency | A monthly package, with no public range | The package, divided by the shorts in the contract |
| Dailies Studio | A monthly subscription, no meter (pricing) | The subscription, divided by the shorts your calls give |
The sum for Dailies Studio is the same: the subscription, divided by the shorts your calls give in the month. Up to eight shorts per call is a ceiling, not a promise: Dailies Studio only keeps the passages that share real value. The more calls you hold, the lower the cost per short.
What the price leaves out: your time
Every one of these routes but the last asks the same thing before producing anything: that you get in front of a camera. A shooting day, a batch session with an agency, or an hour alone in front of your phone is time taken from your clients.
With Dailies Studio that time is already spent: your calls happen anyway, and the material renews itself every week. We also compare a video production studio and filming yourself, on the same five criteria.
How do you compare two quotes?
Before signing, ask each option the same questions:
- What does a short cost, once the price is brought down to the number of videos delivered?
- Who films, and how much of your time does it take each month?
- Who chooses what gets posted? Nothing should go out without your approval.
- How quickly is a video ready?
- Who publishes, on which networks, and when?
- What happens to your clients on screen? A passage that shows them is posted only with their agreement.
- How long do you commit for?
